Studies prove that of these, many fatal accidents are caused when the driver hits a solid object or runs off the road before he has time to realize what is ahead of him. In response to this problem, APOLLO illuminates sharp turns ahead of the vehicle utilizing a laser light installed in the headlights. The concept received second place prize in the 2007 New York Traffic Safety Competition.
